Description
What if your words could lead you home? The stories we tell ourselves about our worth, limits, and possibilities shape us more than we know—yet we have the power to rewrite them. Writing can reveal authentic joy, help us move through sadness and rage, and guide us toward the ways we best self-soothe and recharge.
This monthly drop-in workshop invites you to open yourself—to insight, to intuition, and to the wisdom that emerges when you step out of your head and into creative flow. Through writing, we’ll explore the tender space between asking and receiving, discovering that our most fruitful intuition often comes alive when we give ourselves permission to play, pause, and flow.
Drawing inspiration from Lynda Barry’s Rewilding the Page and the principles of Narrative Healing, we’ll experiment with writing practices that catch insights as they arrive—scraps of memory, flashes of emotion, doodles, fragments of thought—and shape them into stories that hold wisdom, humor, and truth.
This workshop is open to all genres of writing—poetry, prose, essays, fiction, journaling, or hybrid forms. No prior experience is needed. Just bring your curiosity, your notebook or journal, and a willingness to see where the words lead.
Choose your workshop flow:
🌿 Morning Session (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) Part 1
Get your creativity flowing early, then carry that spark into the rest of your day.
🍂 Daytime Session (10:00 am – 2:30 pm) Part 2
Sink into a spacious creative container with a long lunch break—time to connect with fellow writers or take yourself on an inspiration walk through Northside’s cozy fall streets.
This workshop is for you if:
You’re curious (or skeptical) about what “self-leadership” really means
You want to shake off creative perfectionism and reconnect with instinct
You’re ready to examine—and rewrite—the stories that keep you stuck
You want to explore authentic joy, sadness, rage, and tenderness through writing
You long to open yourself to receiving insight, intuition, and connection
You’re seeking a creative practice that helps you get out of your head and into flow
Come ready to write wildly, listen deeply, and discover what the hell self-leadership looks—and feels—like for you.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
