Description
During this 60-minute deep meditation, we will begin with centering breathwork in tandem with guided voice exercises. Followed by neuro-affective touch, a somatically derived form of self-applied touch to help integrate mind and body, all leading up to a relaxing sound immersion, to soothe the nervous system and promote inner wellbeing. Activate your own inner healing as you enter the theta zone on a mind, body, emotional and spiritual level with the sacred instruments of singing bowls, gong, drum, tuning forks, and voice. Emphasis on crystal singing bowls and binaural beats are used to resonate with your body’s personal vibration. Some of these simplified tones work to offer a type of biofeedback opening the pathways of mind to body communication, while others work to entrain and strengthen connections. This promotes healing from the inside out. At times transcendental, regular interactions with these simplified tones and polyvagal practices will leave you feeling grounded, calm and centered. ***Please consider bringing items of comfort, such as a blanket and pillow, comfortable clothing and water bottle. *** Contraindications Please speak with your medical provider before attending this sound immersion experience if you have epilepsy, a pace maker, metal implants or are pregnant. Thank you!
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be. More About the Facilitators
Kateri Sparrow
participated in the formal study of integral sound healing techniques and vibro-acoustic massage, and became a certified practitioner of sound therapies.
She worked as an end-of-life caregiver and served as the activities director at a private nursing home. It was in this setting that she discovered the profound impact of music therapy and sound healing on residents—while leading her own music programs and collaborating with music therapists. Kateri observed a powerful release of tension and a noticeable uplift in mood, not only among the residents but also among the caregivers. These experiences inspired her to explore sound as a form of medicine.
