Description
Visio Divina (Latin for "divine seeing") is a contemplative practice that uses visual imagery—such as artwork, nature, or everyday objects—to foster reflection and spiritual connection. It invites anyone, regardless of religious background, to pause, observe, and let an image evoke emotions, insights, or deeper awareness.
Using Visio Divina as a lens, this four-part series called “Walk With Me” invites reflection on the experiences of welcomed and forced migrations. Each session centers around a different work of art—ranging from painting and photography to installations—creating space for participants to engage deeply with the visual narratives of movement, displacement, and belonging.
Today, migration remains a pressing global issue, with millions displaced due to conflict, climate change, and economic instability. As policies shift and borders tighten, the human stories behind migration often get lost in political debates. This series offers an opportunity to reconnect with the lived experiences of migrants, fostering empathy and deeper understanding at a time when migration is shaping communities worldwide.
This class is for you if you are curious about Visio Divina and want to explore a contemplative practice that deepens reflection through visual imagery
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
