Description
A practical, science-informed course for anyone who wants to meet difficult people and relationships with more serenity, clarity, and compassion. Drawing from the Twelve Steps, modern neuroscience, psychology (including parts work), and contemplative practice, this series explores how our ingrained patterns shape our relationships—with ourselves, with others, and with Source—and how intentional practice can help us shift toward greater freedom.
This is a practice-based course: each session begins with a brief grounding in the methodology and the science behind it, then moves quickly into applied work. You’ll engage in mindfulness, interoception, and attunement; explore real-life situations through small-group discussion, peer workshopping, journaling, and role‑playing; and learn practices that help rewire reactive patterns toward compassion, responsibility, and Source-guided living.
No prior experience with recovery programs is needed, and no Christian theology is taught. This is a space for grounded, compassionate transformation in everyday relationships.
This Class is For…
You’re curious about how your relationship to your own thinking shapes how you relate to yourself, others, and Source.
You’re seeking practical, repeatable practices—not just concepts—to cultivate serenity, clarity, and compassion.
You’re interested in learning how mindfulness, interoception, and attunement can help you respond rather than react.
You value applied learning: real-life scenarios, small‑group discussion, peer workshopping, journaling, and role‑playing.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be. More About the Facilitators
Jeffrey Stec
is a community, conflict-resolution, and team-building facilitator who has taught several classes at The Hive, but none since he got sober four years ago. He approaches his role as a humble peer, a fellow practitioner who deals every day with his own character defects—though, of course, there are “no bad parts”—and who will model vulnerability by sharing how sobriety and the Twelve Steps have transformed his own life into one of practice and faith.
