Description
A Workshop on the Spiritual Lessons of Homer’s Odyssey
You do not need to have read Homer’s Odyssey or seen Christopher Nolan’s film to take this journey—only a willingness to ask where you are, right now, on the way home to yourself.
For three thousand years, the story of Odysseus’s voyage home to Ithaca has captivated audiences with its gods, monsters, temptations, shipwrecks, and narrow escapes. This workshop approaches the epic differently: as a spiritual map of the inner journey we all undertake. Odysseus’s greatest obstacle is not simply the sea. He must become a person capable of returning—healed enough, honest enough, and awake enough to be truly at home again.
Through guided reflection, storytelling, and small-group conversation, we will explore key figures and episodes from the epic as mirrors for our own wounds, temptations, difficult choices, hidden depths, and longing for home.
This is a contemplative, participatory workshop rather than a lecture. Our governing question will be: What must I recognize, confront, surrender, and reclaim in order to come home to myself
This Class is For…
Folks curious about the deeper spiritual lessons inside ancient stories—and how they illuminate modern life.
Folks ready to ask what must be recognized, confronted, surrendered, or reclaimed in order to return home—awake, whole, and true.
Folks who want to explore their inner landscape through guided reflection, storytelling, and small‑group conversation.
Seekers on the inner path who feel they’re somewhere between departure and return, longing for a deeper sense of home within themselves.
Anyone drawn to story as spiritual guidance, especially those who find meaning in archetypes, myth, and symbolic landscapes.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
