About this Event
You’re warmly invited to gather with us at The Hive for an opening reception and artist talk with painter Jayne Kennedy, celebrating her newest series, Nature in the Neighborhood.
These vibrant, impressionistic works are inspired by the trails, trees, and gardens of Northside—each piece a meditation on presence, place, and seasonal beauty. Sourced entirely from local sights, Jayne’s paintings remove distraction and invite viewers to notice what’s often overlooked.
This reception will include time to mingle, a facilitated artist talk, and opportunities to purchase works of art from the series.

Artist Statement: Whether I am hiking a Parker Woods trail or admiring the residential flower gardens on Cherry Street, there is an abundance of nature to be found in Northside. There are communal fruit trees, vegetable gardens, and beautiful plantings found all throughout the neighborhood. This painting series aims to capture that ephemeral beauty found throughout the seasons. Using references exclusively sourced within Northside, I have removed the background context and titled each piece after the time and place where I found them. My aim here is to encourage viewers to seek out these natural treasures for themselves.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
