Description

In recent months, frustration with our institutions and government has reached a tipping point. While many feel an unprecedented level of outrage, the question remains: how can we channel it effectively?

This class serves as a laboratory for those who are angry at the state of society and eager to transform that energy into meaningful action. Through somatic practices, we will learn to stay centered and embody our values as we move into engagement.

Between sessions, participants will be encouraged to form groups and attend meetings or events of their choosing, with the goal of identifying organizations or movements they may want to support long-term. In class, we will reflect on these experiences, explore foundational theories of organizing and collective action, and develop tools for sustainable activism.

This class is for you if…

  • You feel deeply frustrated with the state of society and want to channel that energy into meaningful action.

  • You value embodied choice-making and want to cultivate practices that keep you centered while engaging in activism.

  • You believe in collective liberation and want to explore organizing strategies that align with your values.

  • You are drawn to spaces that integrate personal reflection with external action, creating sustainable pathways for change.

Intention of the Hive

When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
