Description
Slow down, return to yourself, and create something intentional.
In this four-week course offering, we’ll handcraft a personal ritual or ceremony mat using sashiko stitching and naturally dyed fabric. Inspired by traditional tea ceremony cloths, this class invites you to reconnect with the grounding power of everyday rituals, whether your practice is tea, coffee, tarot card reading, writing, collaging, or simply a moment of quiet.
Each session will blend hands-on making with gentle reflection on ritual, presence, and the meaning we weave into the objects we use every day. No experience is required; sashiko is a simple running stitch anyone can learn. By the end, you’ll leave with a handmade mat infused with your own rhythm, intention, and care.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
