Description
Somatics is everywhere right now—but what does it actually mean to pause, breathe, feel, and ground? What does it look like in practice to listen to your body, especially when you’re not sure where to begin?
Somatics is not a trend—it’s an invitation. Into yourself. Into your felt experience. Into your own journey of healing, awareness, and choice-making.
The Hive invites you to a curated sampler of somatic practitioners and modalities designed to help you explore what somatics can feel like in real time. Each week offers a different doorway into body-based awareness—from gentle movement to guided inquiry, from breathwork to creative reflection.
And here’s the twist: we won’t be publishing who is teaching what modality when. Each week will be a surprise—an invitation to show up with openness, curiosity, and trust in the unfolding. Let your body meet each experience freshly, without expectation.
You might be invited to move gently, write in a journal, sip water, or notice emotions as they arise.
There will be space for discussion, with participation always optional and self-directed.
This is not therapy—but it is a space for healing, curiosity, and connection.
Facilitators & Modalities You May Encounter:
Throughout this series, you’ll be guided by a rotating circle of skilled somatic practitioners—each bringing their own lens, lineage, and embodied wisdom. While we won’t reveal who is teaching when, here are some of the voices and modalities you may encounter:
Meagan Connley – Lead facilitator weaving Somatic Experiencing into each session with attuned presence and trauma-informed care
Kim Panther – Yoga, breathwork, and polyvagal-informed touch practices to support regulation and embodied safety
Leslie Hershberger – Three-centered awareness (body, heart, mind) and Metis teachings inspired by Cynthia Bourgeault’s interspiritual lineage
Sarah Corlett – Strozzi Institute somatics, emphasizing embodied leadership and choice-making
Brooke Thomas – Introduces the R.A.I.N. framework (Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture) as a pathway to emotional presence and healing
This is for you if:
You’re curious about somatics but unsure where to begin—and want a gentle, welcoming entry point
You’ve been feeling disconnected from your body and long to return to a sense of grounded presence
You’re drawn to surprise, spaciousness, and the kind of learning that unfolds through experience—not just theory
You believe healing is political, spiritual, and personal—and that the body holds keys to all three
Each week is a surprise. Each modality a doorway. Each facilitator a guide into deeper listening.
Come as you are. Drop in when you can. Let your body lead the way.
Intention of the Hive
When you join a Hive experience, you're invited into our intention to create a group experience that's inclusive, rooted in mindfulness, and dynamically relational. We aspire for each Hive experience to model these intentions, and even to refine them as we continue to learn how to gather in a way that's transformative! The embodiment of these intentions by Hive facilitators, Members, and class participants is what makes the Hive the unique and healing social container that many experience it to be.
